How non woven bags are made?

In a world where natural resources are being exploited day by day, it has become a necessity to bring a change. We know that we can’t just bring a change in seconds, it will take time, effort, and most importantly, a change of habits. We all are accustomed too few things in our daily lives that we have forgotten how they can impact our environment. One of those habits is the use of plastic bags. I know what you might be thinking right now, “if we stopped using plastic bags, what are we going to use”? For that, we have an eco-friendly, recyclable, and reusable substitute for you: non-woven bags.

What is non-woven fabric?

The non-woven fabric is made by bonding together individual fibers not by weaving or knitting but by a mechanical, chemical, or thermal process. Based on the process and raw materials used, these fabrics can create remarkable products. Nonwovens can be produced at a rate of a thousand or more feet per minute, making them cost-effective as single-use items while still being durable enough to last for years. They can be sown, heat-sealed, punched, and cut in any direction, and they can be used as a substitute for conventional textiles in almost any application.

Difference between non-woven bags and plastic bags

Plastic bags are made from polyethylene that has a chemical molecular structure with strong stability, durability, and difficult to degrade. Given its features, a plastic bag requires 300 years to completely decompose. On the other hand, non-woven bags have an unstable chemical structure that makes it easy for them to completely degrade in almost 90 days.

Furthermore, non-woven bags are cheap and non-toxic. So if you prefer to use non-woven bags, you will not only contribute towards a healthy environment but also save money.

Many countries around the world have started replacing plastic bags with non-woven bags because of the benefits these bags offer.

Here is  a 10-step process of how non-woven bags are made

To meet the needs of all customers, the non-woven carry bag making machine produces a variety of bags based on size, color, style, and shape. The non-woven bag-making machine makes the best use of all resources and raw materials in order to produce superior quality. It works well with minimal human interference, allowing you to save money on labor. Given below is the process of how non-woven bags are produced through a fully automatic non-woven bag machine:

Step 1:  Automatic roll feeding with pneumatic lifters

Step 2: Top mouth fold folding and ultrasonic sealing for d-cut or box bags

Step 3: Fabric is moved to a folder unit where it is folded in the middle for bags or tube folded for U cut bags.

Step 4: Sealing is performed at the same time as tube formation.

Step 5:  Fabric is moved to ceasing unit and v-notch

Step 6: If necessary, nonwoven moves to a non woven bag making machine.

Step 7: Horns perform ultrasonic sealing.

Step 8: The bag is now cut in the desired length

Step 9: Cut bags are extracted and punched with an automatic u cut/w cut.

Step 10: Bags are now ready after the fully automatic process.

Furthermore, the machine has a “Photochromic Sensor” that is the basis for making a bag from pre-printed rolls and has a batch counting and collecting system.

Non-woven bag making machine

The non-woven bag has become increasingly popular, resulting in increased production. It is made using a polypropylene (PP) fabric, which is known for its appealing appearance and durability, with the aid of a non-woven bag-making machine.

It is water and heat resistant, as well as lightweight, soft, and machine washable. It is commonly used as a replacement for polyethylene plastic bags because of its environmentally friendly properties. All seems to be easy in the world of web offset by using machines.

How non-woven bags are produced?

Non-woven polypropylene bags are made by spinning polypropylene polymers into long fluffy threads and pressing them together to create a flexible fabric with a weave-like texture. They can be produced chemically, thermally, and mechanically. In this article, we are going to focus on how woven bags are made mechanically. Polypropylene gives the bags a cloth-like look and feel.

The manufacturing process for nonwoven bags is easy, and they are made from readily available materials that help to conserve both natural resources and electricity. Since nonwoven bags are environmentally friendly, they do not produce hazardous waste, which is extremely detrimental to our environment as a whole.

To complete the process of manufacturing non-woven bags, different types of machinery are used. They are:

  • Non-woven bag making machine

After passing through the rollers, this machine is used to cut the fabric to the desired size.

  • Auto handle sealing machine

It takes care of hydraulic pressure in the sealing machine.

  • Printing machine

This machine is one of the most important in the bag making process. It makes the customization process easy that involves the printing of designs asked by the customers.

  • Printing machine rollers

It offers the required support to strengthen the fabric for the production of bags.

To summarize the process and make it easier for you to understand, the 3 main steps of the non-woven bag making process are:

  • First, to make sure that the quality is good, the fabric roll is thoroughly checked.
  • Second, the checked fabric then carefully passes through the printing plate and is cut into desired size pieces that are generally fixed.
  • Third, using a hydraulic stamping machine, the handle is attached to the main part of the bag.

Various uses of non-woven bags

Non-woven bags are manufactured from polypropylene that has a very different structure from that of plastic bags. Non-Woven bags are recognized for their aesthetic qualities, which is why they are used in a variety of applications such as gift bags, handbags with zippers and Velcro, food bags, thermal bags, and shopping bags.

Some applications of non-woven bags are:

  • Garment bag
  • Food bags
  • Thermal bags
  • Tote bags
  • Reusable shopping bags
  • Handbags with zipper
  • Gift bags

Non-woven bags are further divided into 3 types:

  • Loop handle non-woven bag: these bags have an expandable base and their handles keep the substance anchored when there is movement. It reduces the possibility of spillage and offers stability.
  • W-cut non-woven bags: they are commonly known as grocery bags. The design or cut of this non-woven bag is similar to plastic bags.
  • D-cut non-woven bags: these bags can be used as carry bags as a replacement for plastic bags in stores and shops. Its handle is soft and does not get ripped easily.

Non-woven bags are the best available choices over others because of their durability, which makes them more reusable, affordable pricing, lightweight, which means they can hold more weight and are sturdy, packable and foldable, liquid repellent, and washable, to name a few. You should wear them to the market as well as to parties because they are very fashionable. Non-woven bags, in comparison to traditional shopping bags, are more durable and can last up to 5 years. As opposed to conventional shopping bags, these bags can be used and reused hundreds of times and can hold considerably more weight.

Are non woven bags environmentally-friendly?

Non-woven bags are environmentally friendly. They are made of non-woven fabrics that are easy to decompose, non-toxic, non-irritating and environmentally friendly materials. The biggest feature of non-woven fabric is that it has environmental protection functions that plastic products do not have. It’s time to be naturally degraded is much shorter than that of plastic bags. Therefore, non-woven bags made of non-woven fabrics are also regarded as the most economical. Of eco-friendly shopping bags.
